Standard Chalets at Lakeside Coastal Village repersent value for money without compromise on quailty. Because you’re right beside the seaside you will have an excellent base to expolre the local area.
Just spent a long weekend at Lakeside. This is our 3rd year running coming here at this time of year. And this was definitely the best. We had one of their newly furbished rooms which was excellent. The WiFi box was in the room so 1st class WiFi to be had, great improvement . The food was the best I’ve had there too.. The usual Huge selection at breakfast. So much choice of fresh fruit etc, plus a good choice of freshly made items that used to be ordered from the kitchen but are now cooked to order, and of course the self service bar for the full English. .. Dinner in the evening gave the usual incredibly large & varied choices as well as the famous Carvery. Something for everyone to enjoy. The entertainment wasn’t bad generally. But the Sunday Night tribute show of “ Cliff Richard ( Jimmy Jemain) And the Night Shadows was very good indeed !! He got the place rocking ! ... Only one slight negative point was the parking. We had to
Park our car some considerable distance from our chalet as there weren’t enough spaces closer bye. ( Mostly caused by bad parking ) !! ... Maybe Warner’s should mark the bays to stop people spreading themselves out ? . This is a great venue for a weekend ( or midweek ) break. Swimming pool,Gym, Bowles, Archery , shooting and much more to keep you entertained. .. But my advice would be to lose a few pounds in weight BEFORE you go. ;).
We have just had a 4 day break at the Lakeside and found it a good place to stay. We stayed in a basic Chalet Room which was warm, clean and well equipped [although some other guests complained about cold rooms and no hot water]. The bed was a liitle too firm for us. It was a short distance from the dining room where we received good service and a wide range of food to chose from. The only disappointment were the desserts which were mass produced and too creamy and sweet on the whole. It would have been nice to have had a fresh fruit salad or some sorbets etc. The dinner was early as the dining room had to double up as the cabaret room and it was uncomfortable to sit there all evening. Also as usual the music was over amphlified and so we did not stay as it did not appeal to us. We made use of the pleasant warm swimming pool and visited Portsmouth twice as there is so much to see EG the D.Day Museum and the Dock Yard and there is a useful Park and Ride on the road into the Ferries. In other words a good centre for sight seeing, walking and touring.
